UFC Fight Night Marquardt vs. Palhares predictions
Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt vs. Rousimar Palhares
Winner: Palhares by Submission
While Marquardt is a UFC veteran and is making it known that he is on a quest for the middleweight title, Palhares has won the his last three fights and is coming off of a 90 day suspension for not releasing the heel hook he had in his last fight against Tomasz Drwal.
Palhares is known for his submissions and I think he will get Marquardt to tap near the end of the third round.
Lightweight bout: Efrain Escudero vs. Charles Oliveira
Winner: Oliveira by decision
It is always hard not to pick the guy who is undefeated, unless he is going up against someone who has only lost once. Nevertheless, I think that Oliveira’s undefeated streak gives him an advantage over Escudero.
Although he is normally known for his submissions, I think this fight will go the distance and the judges will award the fight to Oliveira.
Lightweight bout: Jim Miller vs. Gleison Tibau
Winner: Miller by decision
Miller has only loss twice in his career, and the two men who beat him are Frankie Edgar, the current Lightweight champion, and Gray Maynard, the number one contender for the lightweight title. He is also coming into this bout with a four-fight winning streak.
However, Tibau can not be counted out. He is a veteran in the octagon and has a dangerous ground game. Despite Tibau’s black belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, I am going with Miller in this bout.
Lightweight bout: Ross Pearson vs. Cole Miller
Winner: Pearson by submission
Both these competitors have won a lot of their matches by submission, but Pearson has been on a role since winning The Ultimate Fighter season 9. His last fight with Dennis Silver won Fight of the Night Honors and there is no question that this fight could be just as good.
